The Estate
Domaine de Chantilly, located in the city of Chantilly, is a sprawling 284 acres estate situated 50km north of Paris, in the Picardy region of France. The estate as it sits today is the design of several centuries of architectural work dating back to the Middle Ages --- from Anne de Montmorency, to the Grande Condé, to Henri d'Orleans the Duke of Aumale these French aristocrats left their mark on the estate for visitors to enjoy for years to come.
A visit to Chantilly Estates can be a whole day affair or a few hours getaway from the noise of Paris. Summer on the estate grounds can be enjoyed in a diverse number of ways --- a pleasant walk through the park, relaxing under an tree reading a book, or listen to music as visitors take in the scenery. For animal lovers, aside from the swans, carps, and birds found in this little slice of paradise, there is a kangaroo enclosure with albino kangaroos, and gardener sheep during the summer who serves as ecological friendly lawn managers. The property has three restaurants in the event visitors become peckish as a result of the effort expended touring the estate; these restaurants are La Capitainarie, Le Café Les Écuries, and the seasonal restaurant --Le restaurant du Hameau which serves breakfast and snacks.
What is remarkable about the Chantilly Estate is the tourist traffic not as pronounced as it is at the Chateau Versailles, hence visitors can really enjoy the chateau with better ease.
A Glimpse into Domaine de Chantilly
Visitors who choose to visit the chateau will experience the paintings' gallery, the apartments and living quarters, a library, and the private apartment of Henri d'Orléans the Duke of Aumale. The Duke of Aumale was left without any living heirs, so he bequeath the Estate with all its contents to the French Institute under the condition that it be accessible to the general public.

Chantilly, which is synonymous to whipped cream, fine French lace, and equestrian sports, is a beautiful city located 50km north of Paris, located in the Picardy region of France. It is here that crème Chantilly ~ whipped cream was said to be first offered by Marie de Bourbon-Conde one of the several owners of the Chantilly estate. In the spring and summer there are several equestrian events ranging from horse jumping to horse racing. The stables in Chantilly is one of the largest in Europe and open to the public for visit and equestrian shows.
